Rules

1Router.Top is a public leaderboard. A listing’s rank is the amount shown next to it. Paying more moves a site up. Paying less than the current #1 still puts it on the board at whatever place that amount can take.

Current opening bids, increments, and the price to claim #1 are shown on the homepage. Those numbers can change.

How ranking works

  • New websites pay the full amount they want shown. That amount must meet the opening bid on the homepage.
  • To take a specific place, the new amount must beat that place’s current bid by at least the homepage increment.
  • A bid below the current #1 is allowed. It still appears, ranked by amount.
  • If a website is already listed, checkout only charges the difference between the new amount and the amount already shown. That difference cannot be smaller than the increment.
  • If two listings show the same amount, the one that reached it first stays ahead.
  • The public total is one number. Visitors do not see how much of it came from earlier payments.
  • A listing moves only after the payment provider confirms the order. Closing the payment page early does not rank the site.

What you can list

  • Only a public HTTP or HTTPS website. Local, intranet, and reserved addresses are rejected.
  • Submit the site you want shown. Each hostname is its own listing.
  • You should be allowed to promote that site. Do not list something you do not control or have no right to advertise.
  • Do not list malware, phishing, scams, or anything illegal to publish or promote.

After you are listed

  • The leaderboard and the site’s detail page show the current amount, click count, and a link to the website.
  • Anyone can raise that listing later by paying the required difference.
  • The operator can unlist a site (it leaves the board but the detail page can remain) or remove it permanently (payment and outbound links are closed).
  • Being outranked is not a defect and is not a reason for a refund.

Using the site

  • No account is required to browse or bid.
  • When payments are available, checkout is handled by a third-party payment provider using supported payment methods, including bank cards.
  • If payments are marked as unavailable on the homepage, new bids cannot be completed until they are turned back on.
